In 1944, 'Chanderkar Sweets' was founded by Shri. Laxman A. Chanderkar (Lucky Chanderkar). This was a time when Mumbai was a hub of textile mills. Shri Laxman A. Chanderkar, with a humble beginning, started by supplying sweets to the canteens of some of these mills. For this, he introduced sweetmeats with a higher shelf life such as Kadak Boondi Ladoo, Malvani Khaja, Mesur, Balushahi, etc. in keeping with the requirement. And soon was supplying to more than 40 mills. He went on to buy a factory in Prabhadevi & researched and bettered the quality of the products to provide nutritional benefits to mill workers. 'Kadak Boondi Ladoo' soon became a hot favourite. Chanderkar Sweets became a chain of 4 shops in Worli, Prabhadevi, Dadar and Parel, all key places of Mumbai at the time. To this day people remember Shri. Laxman A. Chanderkar as 'Ladoo Samrat' owing to the large 'ladoo' displayed in front of the Worli shop made by his son Pramod Chanderkar ( Bhau Chanderkar) at a very young age.
In 1974, Shri Pramod L. Chanderkar, took over in his father's able guidance & introduced more than 90 other items including Bengali Mithai, Punjabi Mithai & Savouries apart from traditional Marathi sweets. Chanderkar Sweets has maintained quality primarily because all items are made in-house. Chanderkar Sweets has continued to provide Khaja & Kadak Boondi Ladoo , which are still hot favourites, at the Prabhadevi, Angnewadi, Kunkeshwar and Gholpadevi Jatras.
Chanderkar Sweets has grown at a fast pace with Diwali corporate orders of mix mithai boxes Now we we are famous for our Katlis – Kaju Katli, Anjeer Katli , Mango Katli & Kesar Katli and Danedar Ladoo. Our mango sweets like Mango Katli and Mango Slice (Burfi) are made from the best Alplonso Mango pulp for best quality. Our Puranpolis, Ukadiche modak, Patolya and NaraliPak too, are loved by one and all.
In keeping with times we have introduced Diet Sweets- Diet Chivda, Diet Farsan, Diet Karanji, Diet Shankarpale, etc.
From 1944 to this day we have stood by our commitment of quality and hence retained the trust of our customers. Our slogan has been 'Darjedar Mithai' which means 'Quality Sweets'. In 1983, Pramod Chanderkar started a biscuit factory in Malvan in the name of 'Chanderkar Biscuit Company' with 100 workers supplying 'Energy' glucose biscuit an ISI mark product, to a large base in Maharashtra.

Hi!!! This diwali I had send Diwali Hamper from Chanderkar Sweets to OMAN for my uncle. As he celebrates Diwali with group of friends and their families. I spoke to Mr. Rajan of Chanderkar Sweets on 21-Oct-2013 & can say it was almost on the 12th hour of upcoming Diwali 2013.Though he must be busy with other orders, he personally provided me all information required for finalising mine. It was so crispy clear that I could take immediate decision & instead of one, ordered for two hampers. (Order Ref. 502158269 Hope items are also equally crispy & yummy :-) ).
